Monocytic maturation:
Maturing monocytes undergo sequential changes in the expression of key markers.
- CD117 is progressively lost, but HLA-DR is maintained
- CD64 is expressed at all stages of maturation
- CD36 and CD11b, then CD14 and CD35 are progressively gained
- CD300e/IREM2 is expressed at the mature monocyte stage
- CD14 is normally expressed before IREM2
- CD13 initially decreases when maturing toward promonocytes, before increasing at the mature monocyte stage (not shown here)
